Role Overview
The Data Engineer will build and maintain robust, secure data pipelines that enable the Compassionate Intervention system to function across multiple government ministries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from health, social services, and legal systems.
- Maintain a secure, cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with appropriate encryption and access controls.
- Build real-time streaming solutions for case management and reporting.
- Automate data validation, quality checks, and monitoring processes.
- Support data science and machine learning efforts by providing structured datasets.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or ETL development.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and big data frameworks (Spark, Kafka, or Airflow).
- Experience with cloud-based data architectures (AWS S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Knowledge of data security standards and compliance (FOIP, HIA).
- Proficiency in DevOps for data engineering (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
- Must be located in Canada and have required work permits (citizen, PR, etc.).
